Steam Chest

Steam Chest

Ferrell-Ross Steam Chests are built with the same no-nonsense craftsmanship that defines every piece of equipment we make. Constructed from heavy 10-gauge 304 stainless steel, these chests are designed to stand up to years of heat, moisture, and constant use without warping, weakening, or backing down.

Engineered for True Mass Flow

Our sharply sloped cone section promotes true mass flow, delivering a first-in, first-out cooking process that prevents rat-holing, bridging, or any of the flow problems that slow production and affect consistency. When you’re running a Ferrell-Ross steam chest, you get smooth, predictable movement—exactly how it should be.

Exclusive Stainless Steam Injection System

Inside every steam chest is our exclusive rolled stainless-pipe steam injection ring. This design produces even, reliable cooking and maintains proper conditioning throughout the entire batch. The result: long-lasting performance and uniform product quality you can count on.

Dual Steam Rings for Larger Diameters

For larger-diameter chests, Ferrell-Ross adds a second concentric steam ring. Instead of relying on a single sparge line or a lone injection ring to cover big volumes, we double the steam delivery system. More steam, more even distribution, more cooking area—built to handle the big jobs without shortcuts.

Sized for Your Operation

We offer steam chests ranging from 148 cu/ft per hour to 1120 cu/ft per hour, giving you the flexibility to match your equipment to your production demands. Retention times typically range from 30 to 70 minutes, depending on product type and moisture requirements.

Energy Efficiency & Finishing Options

For added efficiency—especially in colder climates—we recommend our insulated option. It reduces heat loss, improves temperature stability, and helps keep operating costs in check. A polished stainless exterior is also available for facilities that want a clean, professional look without sacrificing durability.
