Oil Seed Flaking
Oil Seed Flaking
The Ferrell-Ross 32×84 oil seed flaking mill is engineered and built right here in the USA, with the kind of strength and longevity our customers have trusted for generations. Our robust flaker designs have been running in plants for decades, and the 84″ model carries that legacy forward—built to take on long hours, heavy loads, and unforgiving operating environments without wavering.
Dual-Shaft Feeder for Heavy-Duty Performance
Every successful oilseed process starts with consistent feeding, and our dual-shaft feeder assembly is built for exactly that. A paddle-style shaft breaks up clusters and distributes grain evenly, while the feed roll assembly meters product smoothly into the roll nip. This controlled flow helps achieve consistent flake thickness, typically between 0.25–0.30 mm, depending on bulk density.
Exclusive Frame Design for Stability
The 32×84 features an exclusive frame engineered to reduce vibration and keep the mill running quiet and true. The housing includes an adjustable roll saddle system that can be serviced from the outside—making wear adjustments simple, fast, and downtime-friendly.
Premium Roll Construction
The rolls are made from premium chilled cast iron for maximum durability and performance. Optional configurations include bolt-on journals and cavity-oil cooling, giving processors the flexibility to build the mill to their specific needs.
Engineered for Maintenance Efficiency
The frame comes pre-drilled for an optional in-place roll grinder. Adding the grinder greatly reduces overhead and maintenance labor, while improving uptime and roll life—a major benefit for high-capacity oilseed operations.
Built for Throughput
The Ferrell-Ross 500 is designed for approximately 500 TPD, with capacity varying by product type, moisture, and process settings. Whatever the application, this machine is built to take the workload and keep running strong.
